What do YOU use virgin coconut oil for? Our previously disdained saturated fat-filled coconut oil is now pretty much accepted by even the most skeptical as a healthy oil. I've written here about why coconut is actually very beneficial for you to eat. But it's not just good for cooking. The Many Uses of Coconut Oil You can put it on your skin, your hair, your nails, eczema, psoriasis, you name it. It can be used as a massage oil, … Continue reading →

(Note, this review by Jason Glaspey.) Earlier this week we got to try Fishpeople prepared dinners. While eating Paleo typically means trying to cook our own food--using whole ingredients--there are times when it's easy to wax nostalgic for simple, heat-and-eat dinners. So, when I read about Fishpeople, I was intrigued. Their whole gig is centered around making healthy, natural dinners from sustainably harvested fish, and natural ingredients. And even better, two of their dishes are pretty close to Paleo (there … Continue reading →
This is a little belated, but better late than never, right? On Saturday, September 29th I attended Melissa Joulwan, Michelle Tam, and Holly Woodcock's seminar in Estes Park, CO called "Do It Better! Eat Better, Feel Better, Look Better, Live Better". This day-long event went from 9:30am to 5pm and was held in a big conference room at the gorgeous YMCA of the Rockies, which sits at the bottom of Rocky Mountain National Park. It was $50 per ticket, or … Continue reading →

A little over a month ago, I found a recipe for Paleo Bread at Free the Animal (Fat Bread Recipe). I'd been really missing sandwiches, burritos, burgers… Pretty much anything that you can eat with your hands and hold. I made the recipe and was incredibly excited to absolutely love the bread. It's delicious, moist, and made a chicken sandwich with extra mustard taste like the good-old days. AND, it was super high in fat while being low in carbs. … Continue reading →
If you missed the PaleoFX conference in March, here's your chance to experience the content of that wonderful melding of minds. The PaleoFX DVD set is now on sale for $197 here. I wrote a review and recap of the conference in my blog post, "The PaleoFX Conference: A Success". So check that out to find out more about my thoughts on what was said, and who was saying it. To sum it up, though, the conference was hosted by … Continue reading →
Have you guys heard of That's It Fruit Bars yet? I was lucky enough to try these tasty treats and I wanted to let you know about this new Paleo snack food. They're bars that are made entirely of dried fruit - that's it - hence the name... It's no accident that I used the word "treats" in the last paragraph to describe these bars. They are sweet and pretty high in carbs, especially sugar, just like you'd expect any … Continue reading →
I can't tell you how excited we are about our new book, The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Paleo, published by Alpha, a division of Penguin. This week I attended the PaleoFX conference in Austin, TX, and overall I'd say it was a productive, inspiring, thought-provoking event. It was put on by Keith Norris, Michelle Norris, Kevin Cottrell, and Mark Alexander. Read more about them here. The gathering was created to bridge the gap between the science behind the Paleo diet and putting it into practice. There were 3 stages that housed individual speakers, as well as many "Mastermind Panels" that consisted of up to 8 … Continue reading →
There is so much cool Paleo stuff happening right now! I can't even believe how quickly conferences and well-made products are cropping up to educate the public on this way of eating. First the Ancestral Health Symposium last August - the first real gathering of scientific Paleo/Primal masterminds. Then the PaleoFX conference coming up in mid March, featuring some of the brightest thinkers and doers in the Paleo community. And now this: a conference I didn't even have to purchase … Continue reading →

They Love Their Animals TX Bar Organics sells 100% grass-fed, organic, Step 4 (pasture centered) beef that comes from cattle raised in Northern California. Their beef … Continue reading →
