Hi I have just come accross this and after much consideration I am going to start the challenge tomorrow (I realize the contest is done, but I don’t mind). I do slow burn workouts, and have started eating paleo about 70% of the time for about a month and half. I figure this will really give me a jump start in eating that way every day! My goals are to reduce my digestion issues, clear up my skin and I’d like to see if I can lose about 2% of my body fat. That is about 4 pounds. I would like to lose more, but I think that is a good start! My other goal is to make this comitment and stick with it – so I appreciate the opportunity!

Howdy! I am excited to participate in the Paleo Challenge! I have been doing Crossfit since March 2011 and trying to eat Paleo since July 2011. Planning meals and creating grocery lists were always a pain for me… I subscribed to the Paleo Plan at the beginning of the year and LOVE this approach. I have virtually no wasted food (I used to throw unused veggies away)
My goals: Crossfit 3xs a week Cardio workout 1x a week Improve the quality of meats we are eating (eliminate nitrates) Eliminate cheeses Eat fewer nuts Lean out Strict pull-ups

Hey all, I’m Chris.
I’m a 24 year old male PhD student in the UK. I first encountered paleo a year ago when I arrived back to my house after Christmas and my housemate was very excited about something to do with almond butter. I’ve been on and off with it since then, mostly finding it too expensive and difficult to plan. Discovering this site has convinced me to try again, harder. I have no problem with my weight, though I’d like to gain some muscle and lose some fat (not such an uncommon goal :p). My reason for going paleo ties in with several lifestyle changes I’m making to beat Major Depressive Disorder, with which I was diagnosed last Christmas. My 30 day goal is to set myself solidly on the paleo track and shake off the lethargy that’s been plaguing me lately.
We’ve been paleo off and on, but this is kicking our family into full paleo gear! For myself: I want to feel more energy and eventually get off of all the supplements I take. I want to kick my addiction to dairy and chocolate, cure my adrenal fatigue and maintain my current weight (Have a hard time keeping my weight postpartum). For my husband: He’s hoping to gain weight and energy through the paleo plan and daily workout routine. For my kids: I want to help them develop healthy eating habits while they’re young. My daughter is a grain/dairy/sugar addict, and her health and teeth show it. I’m hoping to turn her health around in a big way. My newborn baby is already showing signs of food sensitivities. Hoping to get him a good start once he starts eating foods.
How: paleo plan drink more water walk daily with kids playground “workout” with kids

I have been Paleo fairly consistently for the better part of 2011, and before that only low carb diets worked for me. If I hadn’t binged over Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Years I might not be as depressed as I am now. It’s goofy stuff (paleo-ish) that I overeat on, like the dates leftover from the favored Banana Carrot Muffins. I love them with toasted pecans. One challenging part for me is I have to cut out fruit almost completely or I don’t lose and sometimes gain. Dairy is another temptation for me. I tend to add back these things when I’m tempted to go “crazy” and binge on non-paleo, really unhealthy stuff! But, enough feeling sorry for myself! I am doing much better this week, and have done great on my food intake today. Trying to add more protein instead of fruit, nuts, or (sadly) cheese. Paleo and CrossFit have transformed my body and I am so close to my goals! Terre – age 40
Hello, I just had a question about what’s the best way to get restarted on Paleo. I did the 30 day challenge last spring, lost about 12 lbs and felt so much better mentally and physically. Then I gradually started letting more carbs back into to my diet and gained it back plus more. I am relating it to stress, being busy with a job, 3 kids, house etc and not being able to plan and prepare meals. I keep trying to start again but by the end of the second day or so I am back eating carbs/sugar. Do you have any tips on how to plan menus and cook with an extremely tight schedule? I really believe in Paleo but am having such a hard time figuring out how to actually be consistent with it with limited time for meal prep. Thanks! -Sue

@Susan Marsh – Meal planning is actually what we do at Paleo Plan. You can check out our meal plans for free for 2 weeks by signing up. Check it out at http://www.paleoplan.com/tour. It will at least give you a good idea of what your breakfast, lunch, snack and dinners should look like every day. We use leftovers for lunches almost every day, and make sure you use everything you buy at the store. You get weekly menus (using the recipes on our site) and grocery shopping lists. Hope that helps. Good luck!
Hi everyone. My name is Darci. I’m a 34 year old single mom and like so many others I do CrossFit. I started 7 months ago and lost 25lbs just by watching what I ate and doing the WOD’s 3-4 times a week. For the first time in my life I actually lost 5lbs over the holidays! That being said, something happened in January (IDK what) and I started eating sweets like crazy. As a result of my sweet tooth, I have gained back 4lbs. Considering I still had about 20lbs I wanted to lose, I’m not very happy with myself. So, I’ve decided it’s time to get my butt back on track and lose these last few pounds! To do that, I’ve decided to give the paleo plan a try. I’ve hear such good things about it at the CF box and after researching it I think it could help me manage by auto-immune disease pain as well. I am very excited to start this plan but nervous as well. I’ve never been one to make home-cooked meals. But I’m going to do it this time! If I can dead-lift more than I weigh, I can do this! Wish me luck, and I wish all of you the best!!!!
I am Kelly and have recently started CrossFit after a very rough 3 years. I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer at age 31 and am still in treatment for it at age 34. I have had 7 chest surgeries and have had a very hard time getting full mobility and strength back. I also have fatigue with the chemo treatments that carry over into my everyday life. It’s just been very hard on me and my family but I was thrilled to get into a CrossFit gym and begin training there a few weeks ago. I feel so good when I leave there and look forward to going back each time. As for the Paleo eating, I am all in beginning tomorrow when I can hit the grocery store. I recently found out that I am allergic to wheat, dairy, eggs, and peanuts so I am excited for a plan that pretty much eliminates all of that anyways. My goals are to feel better, get stronger, lose the 30 pounds I have put on during cancer treatments, and be healthy!!! I have two pre-schoolers at home who need their mommy feeling better and full of energy!
