Kinsey and I had the distinct pleasure of meeting two of the nicest guys ever – Jared Mensel, aka Bubba and Jeff Schmidgall of Bubba’s Fine Foods during Paleo f(x) this past year. Jared, nick-named Bubba as a child, is a self-taught gourmet cook and Head Chef of Bubba’s Fine Foods. During his own foray into “clean” eating, he was disappointed by the lack of flavorful, crunchy real food snacks on the market so he started creating his own. His brother-in-law Jeff, a CrossFit and Health Coach who transformed his own health with a Paleo lifestyle, fell in love with Jared’s creations and as Head Peddler, gets the products to market.
After sampling Bubba’s Fine Foods at Paleo f(x), I can tell you that Jared’s goal to recreate the taste and crunch of some of the conventional pantry staples he loved as a child into Paleo-friendly form, has been realized. The Original Snack Mix, as intended, instantly reminds you of Chex party mix! Made from simple, real food ingredients – banana chips (bananas and coconut oil), cashews, pecans, organic apple cider vinegar, coconut aminos, olive oil, sea salt, paprika, turmeric, onion and garlic, this product is simply delicious (and seriously reminiscent of that good ol’ party mix!) Not surprisingly, I was also highly impressed by the great taste and crisp crunch of the Righteous Ranch Snack Mix and the Chipotle Honey BBQ Snack Mix. The UnGranolas, in Vanilla, Uber Chocolate and Cinn-Full Apple flavors are sweet treats – super yummy and totally Paleo.
All of Bubba’s Fine Foods products are artisan handcrafted in small batches and free of grains, gluten, soy and dairy. They’re non-GMO and never contain refined sugars, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors or colors, preservatives or industrial oils. You can order them online or at these retailers.
