Paleo Dinner Rolls (original)
Servings 8
Total Time: 50 minutes
Cook Time: 50 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 cup(s) tapioca flour or starch
- 1/2 cup(s) coconut flour
- 1 tablespoon(s) coconut flour
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) baking soda
- 2 teaspoon(s) sea salt
- 1 cup(s) water
- 1/2 cup(s) coconut oil melted
- 3 large egg(s) separated
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F.
- In a large bowl, combine the tapioca starch and coconut flour. Add the sea salt and baking soda and briefly stir.
- Add the liquid coconut oil and the warm water and stir gently with a spoon or spatula.
- Take the egg whites and whisk or beat them until they start to get fluffy. Whisk the egg yolks. Add both together to the mixture and stir a few times, until well mixed. The dough should be somewhat sticky. If it has too much liquid, add an extra tablespoon of coconut flour and stir until if reaches a more doughy consistency. If the dough is too dry, add some water.
- Coating your hands in tapioca starch, separate the dough into 20 balls that are approximately 1.5 inches.
- Place the dough balls on a baking sheet with parchment paper and bake for 30-40 minutes or until rolls are golden brown on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside.
